About Us

At American Home Advisors, we believe a home is more than a structure; it represents stability, security, and peace of mind. Yet foreclosure activity continues to rise across the country, with more than 40,500 properties entering foreclosure in January 2026 alone, reflecting a 32% increase from the previous year (ATTOM, 2026). Behind these numbers are real families facing uncertainty, stress, and difficult decisions. That reality is what drives our work.

Our partnership was built on a shared commitment to housing justice during our time at the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights, where we worked to ensure fairness and eliminate housing discrimination. Today, we bring together our experience in advocacy, real estate, and nonprofit service to support homeowners with compassion, integrity, and practical solutions, while collaborating with community partners who share our commitment to housing stability. It is this shared purpose and people-centered approach that defines who we are and why we do this work.

Hello
I’m Kim Williams

Since 2008, I’ve been an advocate for homeowners facing financial challenges, especially those affected by the economic crisis and predatory lending practices. In 2013, I earned my Maryland real estate license and became a certified Short Sale and Foreclosure Specialist. I’m passionate about helping homeowners avoid foreclosure, which is why it’s such an honor to work alongside Christopher McKnight, who shares the same commitment.

From 2020 to 2022, I served as Chairman of the Howard County Association of Realtors Fair Housing Committee, promoting fair housing, educating Realtors across Maryland, and reaching out to the public to ensure everyone understands their rights and opportunities in homeownership.

I first learned the value of a home working at my mother’s brokerage as a teenager. She taught me that buying a home is more than a transaction—it’s about creating a safe place where memories are made, and families gather. Your home matters to you, and it matters to me. That’s why we founded American Home Advisors: to guide you through challenging times and help light your way.

Hi, I'm Christopher

My passion for community building and commitment to equity are reflected in my professional and personal work with organizations that focus on helping challenged communities. For over 18 years, I have worked in government and nonprofit sectors to uplift and empower minority communities in higher education, healthcare, and civil rights. Beginning in 2012 as a graduate fellow with the Washington Real Estate Brokers Association (WREBA), I gained a deeper understanding of the barriers to homeownership affecting communities of color. Most recently, working as a civil servant to educate Marylanders about their civil rights in employment and housing, the urgency to help those facing extreme distress, particularly in housing insecurity, became more apparent.

Ensuring that homeowners are aware of their rights and advised of how their choices can impact them and their families is a fight close to my heart. A native of Charlotte, NC, I grew up watching many of my family members impacted by housing insecurity, whether it was due to financial hardship, lack of awareness of their rights, or declining health and its financial impact. Witnessing these family struggles ignited not only a passion for homeownership but a passion for protecting the legacies and

As a new homeowner, I understand the pride of homeownership, as well as the stability and financial access it brings. My passion is to fight to ensure that homeowners can make the best choices for their situations by bringing awareness and understanding of the choices available to them. My mission is to keep empowering those in my community and others in communities just like mine.
